It's ... NOT 'business as usual'

For more than a century, British Columbians and our economy have relied on the strength and resiliency of the construction sector and our commitment to building a better B.C.

Today, a strong, responsible and healthy construction sector is needed more than ever as we deal with the unprecedented impacts of COVID-19.

As we prepare for our work week ahead, please be reminded that it is NOT ‘business as usual’. COVID-19 has changed our industry for the immediate present and perhaps forever. Everyone must pay attention and adhere to the new personal safety and worksite protocols that are essential to business continuity and the protection of our most valuable resources – our workers. There is no wiggle room on this. Worksites must embrace these changes to put crew safety first or sit on the sidelines.

Our sector has faced difficult challenges over the years – this period is by far the toughest. By working together and renewing our commitment to health and safety, we will continue with the essential building of our province and come out of it stronger than ever.

It’s this simple: Don’t start your work tomorrow unless you have clarity on what you need to do and you are prepared to implement strict personal safety and worksite protocols that include the education of your crew on appropriate worksite behaviour.
